Sorry I'm rather late in the discussion - I didn't see this post until today. I read your last post in this series but had no idea what to say. I'm glad others showed their love and support, and I hope you feel mine.

In Romans it talks about God being evident in nature. Personally, this speaks to me a lot because I can't deny his existence when I look at his handiwork. It's kinda like someone reading your blog and wondering if there really is a 'Caesar' character or if it's the avatar of a 62 year old retiree in Maine, but some will take you at your word and believe that you're real. Probably not the best metaphor, but I hope you know what I mean. While on Earth, we can only see the creation, not the Creator, so we choose whether to believe or not.

The thing about faith is... it's faith. Unseen. Not easy (or indeed possible) to rationalise. Or, as Hebrews would have it, 'the substance of things unseen, and the evidence of things hoped for.' We peg our lives on something we can't see, but it brings a strange peace - one that 'passes all understanding'. I was watching Richard Dawkins on TV a few weeks ago and the thought occurred to me that it's sheer arrogance to think that we, with our limited brain capacity (less than 10%, I believe), could possibly think we could understand (and his case, judge) God in a way that would satisfy our intellect. With this vast lack of hard 'evidence' the way we understand it, it's easy to make believers look foolish in a cynical world.

When you think about the blessings you've experienced, and the relationships in your life... I hope you see something divine in it rather than just random happenstance. That's the hand of God weaving his invisible web to catch you - as in to cushion your fall, not to trap you and eat you :) (once again, not the best metaphor!).

Anyway, I've babbled on enough. I hope you don't stop searching for the truth. What you come up with could be incredibly valuable.
